Angelin Tsachev: The program of ESO and BDB will allow the sharing of clean energy between different institutions in our country
The future state energy community can be expected to include BDZ

The electricity costs of public organizations can be optimized through a program of the Electricity System Operator (ESO), which provides for the installation of energy generation and storage systems. The installation of batteries and solar panels on the roofs of schools, hospitals and administrative buildings is proposed. This was explained to Nova News by the executive director of ESO, Angelin Tsachev.
The idea is to create an energy community that allows the sharing of the produced electricity between its members. Tsachev specified that the program is supported by the Bulgarian Development Bank, and the necessary funds will be raised from private capital. He added that BDZ will also be part of this energy community.
The head of ESO believes that we need to learn to work with renewable energy sources. "We need to invest in facilities that will enable operators to manage RES, and not renewable capacities to manage the transmission and supply process," he added.
On the topic of the energy collapse in Spain and Portugal, Tsachev said that the cause is a complex of events, but the root causes are the lack of interconnection of the Iberian Peninsula with the inner part of Europe and possibly the lack of sufficient conventional power plants there.
The CEO of ESO explained that Bulgaria has much better interconnection in Southeast Europe, and a shortage or surplus can be compensated through interconnections. He also said that we have emergency automation and when a critical event is reached, there is an option for our system to be "isolated" from the grid of continental Europe. In this way, even in a crisis situation, the structure of energy production and transmission in our country will be able to be preserved.
