New technological solutions determine the speed of economic growth

All new technological solutions are convenience for the user, but also factors that determine the speed at which we grow economically. We need to be faster and bolder. Resistance to progress will only put us among those lagging behind. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev at the forum "Polish-Bulgarian Fintech Bridge: Shaping the Future Innovation".

He highlighted the importance of innovation and technology, emphasizing that fintech services have democratized and liberalized the traditional financial world. "Through the phone, we have access not only to the bank counter, but to all places that until 10-15 years ago provided us with some kind of financial service. This opened up wider access with less effort and cost," said Donchev.

In his words, when we talk about the development of high technologies such as artificial intelligence, we must be fast and gain experience. He gave as an example the USA and China, which are making every effort to develop ever better models of artificial intelligence. “For us, the main reflex is how we regulate it. And this makes sense from the point of view of the consumer and his rights, of course, but sometimes the most important topic is to be the first,” said the Minister of Innovation.

The event was also attended by the Ambassador of Poland to Bulgaria H.E. Maciej Szymanski, the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Fintech Association Valeri Valchev, as well as leading experts from the financial sector and representatives of Bulgarian and Polish fintech companies.
