2 billion leva have been provided under the procedure "Concepts for integrated territorial investments (ITI)-2" of the Regional Development Programme 2021-2027. The funds are provided for the implementation of municipal and regional projects, and the second call for applications for regional projects has already been opened.
This was announced by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov, who opened an Information Day on the procedure in Gabrovo. During the meeting, the Minister spoke with potential beneficiaries, who were familiarized with the Unified Instructions for Applying with Concepts for Integrated Territorial Investments and the funding opportunities under the programme.
“The commitment, vision and partnership spirit with which you approach this opportunity will determine not only the implementation of specific projects, but also the long-term social and economic development of the regions,” the Minister addressed the participants in the meeting. “We are at a key stage in the implementation of the Regional Development Programme 2021-2027, and the successful implementation of the programme also depends on the successful implementation of the projects you have proposed,” Ivanov stressed. In his words, integrated territorial investments are not just a financing mechanism – they are a strategic tool for achieving real, measurable change and improving the regions.
The concepts that will be developed and implemented within the framework of the second call will lead to positive results for the territories – conditions will be created for new jobs, improved infrastructure, better education, healthcare and social services. “The investments will have a positive effect on the lives of a wider range of people, will strengthen local communities and will make the regions more attractive for living and development,” the Minister also pointed out. He considered the already completed first call for applications with concepts for integrated territorial investments as successful and announced that the interest in it was significant, and the submitted proposals have many times exceeded the available resources. According to him, this is a clear sign of the strong commitment of the municipalities and local partners, as well as the accumulated potential in the field.
It is expected that the project proposals developed under the approved concepts from the first call will soon receive funding from the programs and enter their actual implementation stage.
“The deadline for submitting concepts for integrated territorial investments is until July 8 of this year, inclusive,” the Minister recalled and expressed confidence that with joint efforts, lasting results will be achieved that will meet the expectations of the people in the regions.
“Today’s meeting will help interested parties prepare their projects under the second call,” explained Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Yura Vitanova, who also participated in the information day. She expressed hope that the second call will arouse the same great interest as the first, and that many project proposals will be presented that will meet the development needs of the regions.
