It is possible that our country will receive the second tranche of funds under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan in the fall of this year. This was explained by Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, who attended the opening ceremony of a pilot mobile installation for the production of recycled construction materials near Kremikovtsi.
"I plan to receive the second and third payments within the year, and in the first 8 months of next year to receive the remaining 6 payments. That is the plan. After 2 months of successful negotiations with the European Commission, I think that the second payment could be in Bulgaria in early autumn," he said. Deputy Prime Minister Donchev himself remains optimistic that the funds from the Recovery Plan can be saved and this is one of the government's priorities.
The opening of the Mobiccon-Pro mobile installation, built by Glavbolgarstroy, was also attended by Ekaterina Zaharieva, the European Commissioner for Start-ups, Research and Innovation. According to her, the Bulgarian government has good coordination and communication with the EC on the topic of EAP funds. "The EC is interested in these plans working and for the countries to receive them so that their economy is more competitive," she said. According to Zaharieva, the Bulgarian government's plans are realistic.
Regarding the project for a mobile installation for the production of recycled building materials, she emphasized that it is a good example of what is achieved with European solidarity and funds, so that we have a more competitive economy and cleaner cities and villages. The project is financed with funds from the European Union in the amount of 9.5 million euros under the Horizon Europe program, for which Zaharieva is responsible. Today's opening of a construction materials recycling installation is a really good example of what is achieved with European solidarity, with European funds, so that we have both a competitive economy and cleaner cities, villages, countries. And to achieve the goals we have set ourselves, without endangering our economy," said the Bulgarian European Commissioner.
