"The recovery plan submitted by Kiril Petkov's government is unfeasible." This was stated in "Panorama" on BNT by Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov. In his words, "things are critical." "First, it does not protect the national interest and second, it puts our energy security at stake. Moreover, if these reforms, which have been undertaken as a commitment, are implemented, we will get to the point where it will reach deep into the pockets of Bulgarian households."

The reforms must be renegotiated as soon as possible, and the priority at the moment is to try to save the second payment, Stankov explained.

"Let's reformat these reforms so that they don't affect our energy security, but are targeted at households."

Stankov said that while he was preparing the plan in his capacity as deputy minister in the last GERB government, twice as much money was allocated for renovation and a project for panels on the roofs of each household:

"A project that, in addition to being delayed, I find 1,500 contracts instead of 10,000 unsigned and I have currently engaged an asset from the ministry staff to first renew the contracts for households, because this will reduce their bills twice.

Zhecho Stankov announced that the renovation will be provided with money from the state budget, and households will not pay anything. "They are staked 2.5 billion leva as a state guarantee to continue the renovation - in the same way you know it from the Borisov cabinet 2 and 3. This will continue 100% free of charge, through the BDB, without households having to do any inspections, so that everyone who has submitted documents can be renovated".
