Energy independence and security as a strategic priority. This was the focus of a discussion at the sixth edition of the Delphi Economic Forum in Washington, in which Glavbolgarstroy participated. Within the energy panel, Kalin Peshov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Glavbolgarstroy Holding, emphasized the importance of energy independence and security for the region of Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Peshov emphasized the active actions that the company is taking on the implementation of the Vertical Gas Corridor, as well as on the problems in the construction and energy sectors related to finding employees, training personnel and access to highly qualified experts and engineers.

Within the framework of the forum, the management of the construction holding held talks with current and former representatives of the US administration. The development of major energy projects on the territory of Bulgaria and the progress in the implementation of the construction of Units 7 and 8 of the Kozloduy NPP, in which the Glavbolgarstroy project is the leading local partner of the South Korean giant Hyundai, were discussed, as well as with Francis Fannon, Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources of the United States (2018-2021), and Jeffrey Pyatt, Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources (2022-2025).

On the sidelines of the forum, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Glavbolgarstroy Holding also spoke with the Republican Senator from Kansas Jerry Moran, sharing the company's experience in the field of energy construction.

The event, organized by Delphi Economic Forum, Kathimerini English Edition and the Hellenic American Leadership Council, provided a platform for effective dialogue and consideration of the long-term prospects for the security, stability and prosperity of Southeastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Strategic talks with American giants Honeywell, General Electric, Caterpillar and Microsoft

During their visit across the ocean, representatives of Glavbolgarstroy were official guests of global technology leaders Honeywell, General Electric, Caterpillar and Microsoft. The meetings discussed both current strategic projects being implemented in Bulgaria, as well as future specific strategic initiatives and undertakings.

GBS and Honeywell outlined concrete steps for a future joint partnership in the country in the development of system solutions for batteries for storing electrical energy.

With Solar Turbines, the Bulgarian company discussed its joint projects in the field of gas infrastructure, within the framework of which 21 low-emission turbines of the American company, part of the Caterpillar group, have been delivered and installed on the territory of Bulgaria.

Discussions with General Electric outlined a clear opportunity for a future joint partnership in the field of nuclear energy and sustainable energy transition.

Meetings with the US administration:

During a meeting held in the building of the US House of Representatives, Kalin Peshov and Plamena Nenkova, Deputy Executive Director for International Relations and Business Development of Glavbolgarstroy Holding, discussed with Congressman Troy Balderson - Member of the Republican Party - the energy map of Bulgaria and the current challenges facing the sector in the region of Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean.

Points of contact with American business and strategic investors:

The leadership meeting organized by the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) with a focus on energy security, investment opportunities and future infrastructure projects in Bulgaria and the region was held in Washington. The event attracted representatives of business, political and economic circles from Bulgaria and the US, including the Minister of Energy of Bulgaria Zhecho Stankov.

As part of his official visit to the US, Glavbolgarstroy participated in the BCIU roundtable. Kalin Peshov emphasized the stable investment climate in Bulgaria and the increased interest of international companies in the country. He presented Glavbolgarstroy's current infrastructure projects and successful partnerships and emphasized the use of AP1000 technology in the construction of the new units of the Kozloduy NPP, which will make Bulgaria the first country in Europe with an operating reactor of this type.

BCIU organized a roundtable discussion, the focus of which was Bulgarian energy.
