Rumen Radev: Political dialogue between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia should be conducted at all levels and can achieve results when it is built on mutual respect and implementation of the 2022 European consensus
The political dialogue between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia should be conducted at all levels and can achieve results when it is built on mutual respect and implementation of the 2022 European consensus. This was stated by the head of state Rumen Radev at a meeting at the presidential institution with Lyubcho Georgievski, Prime Minister of our southwestern neighbor in the period 1998-2002 and current chairman of the political party VMRO People's Party. The meeting was held at the initiative of Lyubcho Georgievski.
During the conversation, President Radev expressed hope that the state leadership of the RSM will proceed as soon as possible to include Bulgarians in its constitution, which would also open the door to negotiations for the country's full membership in the European Union. The head of state also expressed his expectation that the hate speech against Bulgaria and Bulgarians in the RSM itself will cease, and that the public media and institutions in our southwestern neighbor will be leaders in this process. Lyubcho Georgievski, for his part, emphasized that he is in favor of a much more active dialogue in bilateral relations, supports the inclusion of Bulgarians in the RSM constitution and the guarantee of their rights, which will also open the country's European perspective and stimulate bilateral economic and information exchange, tourism and mutual investments in the interests of both countries and the region.
