Minister Nikolov: Our efforts are aimed at opening new markets for Bulgarian business
The Bulgarian economy is showing stability and grew by 2.2% in the third quarter, he emphasized
Exports are among the main drivers of any economy. In this regard, the Ministry's efforts are aimed at opening new markets for Bulgarian business, which will create an opportunity to diversify exports from Bulgaria and not feel the negative economic aspects that we observe with some European partners.
This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Industry Petko Nikolov during the official ceremony at which the annual "Exporter of the Year" awards were presented.
Minister Nikolov emphasized that our country's economy is showing stability, despite the many international crises. According to him, according to NSI data in the third quarter of 2024 the Bulgarian economy is growing by 2.2%, compared to the same period of the previous year. "In the new autumn forecasts of the EC, the forecast for GDP growth in the current and next year has been revised upwards. In order to maintain this trend, one of our main priorities is to support Bulgarian companies in order to successfully implement themselves on international markets," he pointed out.
Dr. Nikolov pointed out that Bulgarian export-oriented companies can rely on the team of the Ministry of Economy, the Bulgarian Export Insurance Agency and the economic representatives abroad to search for opportunities to enter new markets and expand their presence in traditional ones.
The "Exporter of the Year" awards are organized for the twelfth consecutive year by the website exporter.bg. The Ministry of Economy and Industry was the patron of the event, at which export-oriented Bulgarian small and medium-sized companies were awarded.
Minister Nikolov presented the Grand Crystal Prize "Exporter of the Year" to "Gopet Trans" EOOD, a leading freight forwarding company with offices and representative offices in Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Spain, Greece and Turkey.
