A Memorandum of Understanding on energy cooperation between the governments of the two countries is expected to be signed within the framework of the visit to Korea. The document will create a framework for strengthening mutually beneficial contacts, which will encourage the participation of companies from both countries in tenders in the field of energy, in the implementation of new investments for the production of energy from renewable sources, the construction of energy storage facilities, sharing of good practices in the field of natural gas and others. During his visit to Seoul, Minister Malinov will discuss these issues with the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea Ahn Dokgun. He will also speak with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Multilateral Global Affairs Kweon Ki-hwan. Vladimir Malinov will also hold meetings with the executive director and president of Hyundai Engineering and Construction Yoon Young Jun, with the management of the Korea Commercial Credit Corporation, the Korean Exim Bank and other leading representatives of the state administration.

In Tokyo, Minister Malinov will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan for cooperation in achieving the energy transition. Bulgaria and Japan will explore the possibilities for joint initiatives to exchange expertise in the fields of green technologies, natural gas, nuclear energy and the development of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen technologies. Malinov will talk with the Minister of Economy, Industry and Trade of Japan Saito Ken. The Minister of Energy will also meet with representatives of the management of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, the Export and Investment Insurance Agency, the companies Toshiba and Hitachi and others.
