Bulgarian municipalities have more than 11 billion euros for adapting to climate change
Bulgarian municipalities can use more than 11 billion euros for adaptation to climate change until 2030. Project proposals will be accepted that relate to various sectors of the economy - transport, energy, housing and road infrastructure, social and technical assistance. Financial support will be given to projects that are based on environmentally friendly solutions. This was reported to BNR by Svetlana Zhekova, from the Low Union Mission "Adaptation to Climate Change".
The funding sources from which municipalities receive funds for adaptation to climate change with the Cohesion Funds, the Innovation Fund and the Modernization Fund, the Just Transition Fund, the Social Climate Fund, as well as the EU Climate Change Adaptation Mission, part of who is the former Acting Minister of Environment and Environment and Water Svetlana Zhekova:
"We have all possible policies in Bulgaria. From now on we have to implement them. We should get out of politics as such, the one we do in the National Assembly and in the governments. And let's start talking to the people outside, specifically with the local authorities - with those who apply it".
The difficulties facing adaptation policies are not related to the availability of funding, as well as access to knowledge, in need of financial cases and support at the national level, Zhekova adds.
