The sixth unit of the Kozloduy NPP is again operating in parallel with the power system
The NRA has confirmed the operability of the facilities and systems
On July 8, at 9:07 a.m., the sixth power unit of the nuclear power plant was connected to the national electricity system. The unit was stopped on June 15 for planned preventive activities related to malfunctions of the oil system of the 24/400kV block transformer (the non-nuclear part of the unit) found during the operation, as well as indications of coolant leakage in the steam generator. After carrying out the necessary repair work, tests and trials of the equipment were carried out, provided for in accordance with the requirements for safe operation. Inspections carried out by independent experts and the Nuclear Regulatory Agency confirm the operability of the facilities and systems.
In accordance with the technological regulation, the loading of the block is carried out in stages. The fifth unit of the Kozloduy NPP operates according to the electricity production schedule.
