The future of energy and increasing the competitiveness of CEE are the focus of the second day of the Green Transition Forum

Increasing the competitiveness of Central and Eastern Europe through a sustainable green transformation, the future of energy and energy transformation are among the topics of the second day of the forum "Green Transition Forum 4.0 - New perspectives for Central and Eastern Europe" in Sofia Event Center.

This is the fourth edition of the forum dedicated to the green transition and organized by Dir.bg and 3E News. BTA is a media partner of the forum.

The point of view of the European Commission (EC) will be presented in separate panels by Kurt Vanderberge - Director General of DG Climate Action, Charlina Vicheva - Director General of DG Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Matthew Baldwin - Deputy Director General of DG Energy ". According to the program, among the participants in the forum will be George Kremlinis, ambassador of the European Organization for Public Law in Bulgaria, honorary director of the EC.

A video address will be given by Prince El Hassan bin Talal, Chairman of the Royal Institute for Interfaith Studies (RIIFS), Jordan.

The organizers indicate that the fourth edition of the forum will also serve as a platform for a common position of the countries of the region for the upcoming world forum in Baku in the fall. In order to present the priorities of the hosts, Yalchin Rafiev - the main negotiator for COP29 and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan - will participate in the forum in Sofia.

In the panel on energy transformation, acting minister of energy Vladimir Malinov is expected to be joined by his colleagues from Romania and Moldova - Sebastian Burduza and Viktor Parlikov, as well as the chairman of EWRC Ivan Ivanov.

The Mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, will host the participants in the "Smart Cities" panel - the Mayor of Pristina, Preparim Rama, and the Deputy Mayor of Athens, Nikos Chrysogelos.

In the panel on the recovery of Ukraine, the participants are expected to include the President of Bulgaria (2012–2017) Rosen Plevneliev, the Prime Minister of Romania (2012–2015) Victor Ponta, the Deputy Director of the Secretariat of the Energy Community Dirk Buschle, Maxim Bondarenko, head of the "Investment Consulting" department at "Ukraineinvest".
