Minister Malinov is leaving for a working visit to the USA

Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov is leaving for a working visit to the United States of America next week. During the visit, emphasis will be placed on upgrading cooperation between the two countries in order to guarantee energy security.

The first meeting of the Steering Committee under the Intergovernmental Agreement between the two countries on cooperation on the project to build nuclear power at the Kozloduy NPP site and Bulgaria's civil nuclear program will be held in Washington. During the visit, Malinov will meet with US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Jeffrey Payatt. A meeting is also planned with Assistant Secretary for International Affairs at the US Department of Energy Andrew Light.

Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov will talk with representatives of financing institutions such as the American Corporation for International Development (U.S. DFC), as well as with the federal export credit agency of the United States "Exim Bank" (EXIM Bank), to discuss the possibilities of participation in the realization of projects in the Bulgarian energy sector.
