Bulgaria supports the initiative of Switzerland and Ukraine to convene the first Summit for Peace in Ukraine. On this occasion, Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev met with the Ambassador of Ukraine Olesya Ilashchuk and the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation Raymond Fuhrer.

The forum, which will be held on June 15 and 16 in Switzerland, should define a clear road map based on the principles of President Volodymyr Zelensky's "Formula for Peace" initiative, the UN Charter and international law. President Zelensky's initiative is a conceptual plan, the goal of which is to end the war in Ukraine and achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace, based on preserving the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Bulgaria participates in 4 of the relevant working groups of the initiative - on "Food Security", "Energy Security" and "Restoration of Justice", and as a co-chair on "Environmental Security", together with Germany and Finland.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev was categorical that our country will continue to support Ukraine in its just cause to defend its right to freedom and independence and to independently choose its own security guarantees. Bulgaria remains fully committed to the strong and united response of NATO, the European Union and the international democratic community to Russian military aggression against Ukraine. Political contacts between Bulgaria and Ukraine are active and take place both at the bilateral level and within various international formats.
