"Bulgartransgaz" EAD announced the first public order for the implementation of the Vertical Gas Corridor

The Bulgarian gas transmission operator announced an open procedure under the Law on Public Procurement for "Planning, investment design, supply of the necessary materials and equipment, construction and commissioning of new sites for the expansion of the gas transmission infrastructure of Bulgartransgaz EAD with the aim of increasing the capacities at the interconnection points Kulata/Sidirokastro and Negru Voda/Kardam". The public procurement is in three separate items with a total estimated value of BGN 586,669,410.00 (five hundred eighty-six million six hundred sixty-nine thousand four hundred and ten) without VAT. The projects to increase the capacity from Greece to Bulgaria and from Bulgaria to Romania are a key part of the Vertical Gas Corridor and the fulfillment of the set objectives for diversification and improving security of supply. The realization of the projects will provide a technical possibility for the gas transmission network of "Bulgartransgaz" EAD to transfer increasing amounts of natural gas from various reliable sources in the direction from south to north.

The first allocated position is for the "Looping from the Tower to Kresna" site, which will be realized in three stages, implemented simultaneously: linear part, station for cleaning the gas pipeline "Kulata" and station for cleaning the gas pipeline "Kresna". The project includes the construction of a high-pressure gas pipeline with a diameter of DN 700 and a length of about 48 km, as well as the accompanying technological facilities. The estimated value of this item is 132,269,410.00 (one hundred and thirty-two million two hundred and sixty-nine thousand four hundred and ten) BGN excluding VAT.

The second position is with the subject - "Transportable gas pipeline from Piperevo to Pernik", which will be realized in three stages, executed simultaneously: linear part, station for cleaning the gas pipeline "Piperevo 2" and AGRS "Radomir". The project includes the construction of a high-pressure gas pipeline with a diameter of DN 500 and a length of about 53 km, AGRS "Radomir" and a gas pipeline diversion to it, as well as the accompanying technological facilities. The estimated value is in the amount of 100,579,950.00 (one hundred million five hundred seventy-nine thousand nine hundred and fifty) BGN excluding VAT.

The third position is for "Looping from Rupcha to Vetrino" in two stages implemented simultaneously: a linear part and a station for cleaning the gas pipeline "Vetrino". The project includes the construction of a high-pressure gas pipeline with a diameter of DN 1200 and a length of about 61 km and the accompanying technological facilities. The estimated value does not amount to 353,820,050.00 (three hundred and fifty-three million eight hundred and twenty thousand and fifty) BGN excluding VAT.

The most economically advantageous offer for each position will be determined on the basis of the selected award criterion "optimal quality/price ratio", according to indicators related to the organization envisaged by the participants for the implementation of the activities of the subject of the order and the proposed price.

The financing of the activities within the scope of the order will be carried out in accordance with the decisions under item 2 and item 3 of the decision adopted on March 14, 2024 by the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, Decision on taking actions in connection with the initiative for the Vertical Corridor of the gas transmission operators of Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine and Moldova.
