PP-DB leaders Kiril Petkov, Asen Vasilev, Hristo Ivanov and Atanas Atanasov asked GERB to continue the negotiations on forming a government. In the presence of the resigned Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, they responded to Maria Gabriel's announced intention to return an empty mandate to President Rumen Radev.

It became clear from the speeches of the PP-DB leaders that there are no differences in the composition of the Council of Ministers, but the dispute about when to sign the prepared agreement between the two political forces. The chairman of Atanas Atanasov personally called on the leader of GERB Boyko Borisov to take responsibility and intervene for a successful conclusion of the negotiations, reports Dir.bg.

"The rotation was agreed upon under certain conditions. We agreed to GERB's proposals, which are useful for Bulgaria. In order to avoid speculation a week ago, I said that I had no pretensions to be the Minister of Foreign Affairs. She agreed to work with other mechanisms," he began first Nikolay Denkov.

Earlier, GERB stated that they will return an empty mandate if the PP-DB does not accept the latest proposal from GERB by the procedure before President Rumen Radev tomorrow at 12 o'clock - "only a rotation of the Prime Minister with the Deputy Prime Minister and to preserve the current composition of the government ", and then the two political forces continue to negotiate on the overall vision for a possible future government.

Our agreement with GERB is for 18 months. On the 9th month, all we do is switch primes. We are ready to keep the promise we made so that the government can continue. During the negotiations, colleagues asked for additional ministries, we are ready to give them, said PP-DB co-chairman Kiril Petkov.

He emphasized that with real will, the reforms can continue.

"We had a declaration that started the joint work 9 months ago. In it there were clear priorities for judicial reform and regulators. We have not stopped insisting on the concretization of commitments. We published our negotiation policy through a memorandum. I do not understand why the signing of an agreement is placed under doubt. There is technological time and there is time to be signed," Hristo Ivanov pointed out. And he added that what is happening at the moment seems unnecessary to him

"We prepared a new document together, looking from that of GERB and our memorandum. We are ready to publish the agreement. There has never been a political crisis like in the last two years. There is a general desire for reforms and to get out of the crisis," he added.

The co-chairman of DB Hristo Ivanov stated that the agreement was checked three times and he does not understand what the arguments are for doubting whether it will be signed. "We are ready to continue negotiations, but we are not yet ready to give up on reforms."

So that there is no speculation, about a week ago I made it clear to Maria Gabriel, we also told the negotiating team that I have no pretensions to be the Minister of Foreign Affairs, so I don't see why this topic should be raised anymore, said the resigned Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov on the occasion of the negotiations with GERB for coalition government.

I suggested to Maria Gabriel and she agreed to other mechanisms so that we could work together in terms of otherworldly contacts, he stated.

Denkov explained from which starting positions the talks with GERB started. The first is that in nine months the Prime Minister will be replaced by the Deputy Prime Minister. The second is that the composition will remain the same, unless we agree with Maria Gabriel which ministers could be replaced, if there is reason to do so. And that we will work on a management and legislative program that was shown to everyone, he listed.

Since several proposals have been made that seem beneficial to Bulgaria, we have agreed to enter into talks that would allow for the government of the country for four years, a full term, the resigned Prime Minister pointed out, adding that the second, for which they have agreed by PP-DB, is to discuss how the composition of the Council of Ministers could be better balanced, but again starting from what we have agreed on beforehand. "And thirdly, added Denkov - let's conclude an agreement that sets the rules by which decisions can be made", commented Nikolay Denkov and added that this long-term agreement was supposed to allow the government and parliament to work in sync to achieve the tasks and the priorities that are set.

What is happening at the moment is unnecessary, said Hristo Ivanov.

He pointed out that in a declaration some time ago, priorities were indicated - such as regulators, judicial reform, as well as the one in the security sector, and the fight against corruption. At this stage we think it is good to have a signed document that settles our commitments and to make it clear to people that there will be reforms in these areas, Ivanov pointed out.

He specified that a detailed document was prepared together with GERB-SDS.

We are ready to publish this paper and people need to know that real care has gone into it. We hope it will be signed because we have gone through it three times. If there are specific considerations, we are ready to work, not give a press conference. There was no reason to give up finishing and sign this document tomorrow, Hristo Ivanov said.

We have no right to appear to have no will to reform. We want to bet on the principle that the best ones will be chosen for the regulators, Ivanov pointed out.

According to him, there should be competition and clear checks, restrictions on political figures and each country should be able to veto appointments to regulators.

If we do not sign this agreement, it will be a heavy sentence, it will have a heavy impact on everyone, Ivanov pointed out.

Asen Vasilev stated that the main problem of having a crisis in the negotiation process is the postponement of the signing of the agreement. "There is no dispute over the composition of the Council of Ministers. There is a dispute about when to sign the agreement. This could be a fake, but also a real crisis," he said.

Vassilev pointed out that he still remains a "moderate optimist".

Atanas Atanasov called on the leader of GERB to intervene in the situation.

"I want to call on Borisov to intervene in this situation. I don't understand why the negotiations stalled," he said.

Atanasov suggested to Gabriel "not to rush to return the empty folder tomorrow".

Tomorrow, President Rumen Radev will hand over a mandate to form a government to a candidate for prime minister, named by GERB-SDS, as the largest parliamentary group in terms of numbers. The presentation of the mandate will be at 12:00 in the building of the presidential institution.
