Completed the modernization of Iskar railway station

In just two months NC "Railway Infrastructure" managed to complete three important infrastructure projects - the Stara Zagora and Iskar railway stations, as well as the connection between the port of Burgas and the interior of the country. This was said by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Biser Minchev, during the opening of the reconstructed Iskar railway station in Sofia.

Deputy Minister Minchev emphasized that the station is one of the main points that welcomes passengers and that is why their modernization is of such great importance.

"Built more than 70 years ago, Iskar station occupies an important part in the railway history of Bulgaria", explained the deputy minister and added that from today a new life has been breathed into the station complex.

The scope of the project includes a complete modernization of the entire infrastructure of the site and auxiliary technological buildings and facilities, indicated the general director of NKŽI, Maria Genova. The event was also attended by representatives of the Board of Directors of NC "Railway Infrastructure", the contractor company, etc.

The reconstruction of the Iskar station complex is financed by OP "Transport and Transport Infrastructure" 2014-2020, and the value of the construction contract is BGN 1,212,239, the Ministry of Transport reports.
