ME: The public discussion of the updated Integrated Plan in the field of energy and climate begins

The Ministry of Energy offers for public discussion a draft update of the Integrated Plan in the field of energy and climate of the Republic of Bulgaria 2021-2030.

Interested parties can send their proposals and opinions on the proposed texts by January 22, 2024 to the e-mail address: necp@me.government.bg. This was announced by the press center of the Ministry of Energy.

We remind you that the initial version of the Plan was sent for notification by the European Commission in March 2020, pursuant to Article 3 of Regulation (EU) 2018/1999 on the management of the Energy Union. On 14.10.2020, the EC sent notes and comments on the Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Pursuant to Article 14 of the mentioned Regulation, our country has a commitment to submit to the attention of the Commission a draft of an updated Plan. It should reflect the notes and comments of the EC from 14.10.2020, as well as reflect the higher goals set with the European Green Deal and the European Climate Law, the "Ready for 55" Package, the REPowerEU Plan, the Plans for recovery and sustainability, as well as the latest report on Bulgaria within the framework of the European Semester.

The current draft of an updated Integrated Plan in the field of energy and climate has been prepared jointly with the Ministry of Environment and Water, as well as with the help of a number of other competent departments, including Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy and Industry, Ministry of Innovation and Growth, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Executive Agency on forests and the Agency for Sustainable Energy Development.

The Ministry of Energy relies on the expertise and active feedback of all interested persons, organizations and institutions, who, after familiarizing themselves with the updated Plan, send their opinions so that this strategic document reflects the best possible practices and ideas.
