The team of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food has set itself the goal of restoring irrigation and using the potential of the fertile Bulgarian land to the maximum extent. We are also working to increase the degree of food security and an orderly market. This was said by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Alexander Yotsev during the conference "Sustainable Agriculture in the EU and Ukraine: Strategies, Innovations and Successful Practices" in Pazardzhik.

"The market will regain interest in production and guarantee realization. The distribution of production, soil fertility, all the elements of modern agriculture are very important," said the deputy minister.

In response to questions from the present farmers, he emphasized the opportunities and measures that encourage small farmers.

Deputy Minister Yotsev emphasized that technologies, productivity and cooperation are decisive for the market success of farmers. He also emphasized the importance of the territorial distribution of individual productions, stressing that it is not possible to support everything everywhere, as this way the potential of agricultural land is not utilized.

He informed the conference participants that a concept for agricultural produce markets is currently being prepared and explained the importance of proper zoning in line with the market situation.

"In working with branch organizations, we are trying to put the entire agro-food chain in order and not work separately for plant breeding, animal breeding or fisheries, but in a complex from the farm to the table," said Deputy Minister Alexander Yotsev.

"We must work together to create prospects for farmers," he said.

The importance of irrigation and modernization in the agricultural sector was also emphasized by the organizer of the conference, the chairman of PP United Farmers Petya Stavreva.
