The energy workers of the "Bobov Dol" TPP: We insist that the plant will operate until 2038

The energy workers from the "Bobov Dol" TPP are fully prepared to join the announced national protest on September 19 in Sofia for the preservation of coal mining and against the premature closure of capacities in the coal sector. This is what the trade unionist Ivo Dimitrov, chairman of the organization at the CL "Support" in the company, said for BNR.

Hundreds of his employees protested a week ago at the entrance to the plant.

The demands of the Bobovdol energy workers are formulated in five points. The main thing is that the plant should continue to operate until 2038, and not, as stipulated in the Regional Plan for a Just Transition, until 2026, Dimitrov recalled:

"And we are firmly determined to stand up for them. That the power plant remains in operation until 2038 - this is our main request. So that the investment program, which has been set by the owners of the power plant, can be fulfilled."

Which cannot be done until 2026: "This is a complicated process that is absurd to happen in two years".

How many power workers from TPP "Bobov dol" will join the protest: "There is a desire of the people, it already depends on what volume of work the plant is at, because you know that we are in a continuous process of work and there is no way to leave the plant without the necessary supervision, which is necessary. But we will fight to the end, of course."
