Algeria is interested in cooperation with Bulgaria in energy, pharmacy, IT and agriculture
Energy, pharmaceuticals, IT, agriculture and machinery for the processing of agricultural products are sectors in which Algeria is interested in cooperation. This was stated by the ambassador of Algeria in Sofia, H.E. Messaud Mehila at a meeting with the chairman of the BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov.
It was agreed that the BCCI together with the embassy team will organize a hybrid event on the new legislation and investment opportunities in Algeria, the BCCI announced.
Holding an exhibition of Algerian goods in Sofia was also discussed during the meeting.
According to information from the Ministry of Economy and Industry, in the first three months of 2023, our trade with Algeria amounted to 273.3 million USD. marking a growth of 188.9% compared to the same period of 2022. Bulgarian exports amounted to 233.5 million USD (growth 285.3%), and imports reached almost 39.8 million USD. (a growth of 17%). The significant increase in trade is due to the continuing trend of increasing Bulgarian exports of wheat (90% of total exports).
