The electricity system operator responded to the request of Electricity Distribution Networks West and opened the doors of the company's 400 kV Stolnik substation to a group of students from Cairo University in Egypt. The visit is within the framework of ESO's "Energy School" program, which aims to attract young personnel in the field of energy.

The future electrical engineers from Cairo are visiting the Technical Training Center of Electricity Distribution Networks West, and the purpose of their training includes familiarization with the way the electricity system of Bulgaria works. The visit of the group of students from Egypt to the 400 kV "Stolnik" substation of the Electricity System Operator added more knowledge for future experts.

Engineer Hristo Ilchev from the network operation area Sofia region of ESO introduced the foreign students to the basic principles in the operation of the electricity transmission system of our country, to the history and activities of the Electricity System Operator of Bulgaria.

Trainees of the Electricity System Operator also took part in the visit to the 400 kV "Stolnik" substation. The young colleagues exchanged experiences and discussed the possibilities for implementation in the sector in Bulgaria and Egypt.

The internship program of the Electricity System Operator attracts students from various specialties and universities, both from Bulgaria and abroad, and provides an opportunity for young specialists to gain practical experience and improve their skills.

In July, another initiative to support professional education in the field of electrical engineering was held within the framework of the ESO "School for Power Engineers" program. The Pleven network operation area of ESO organized a visit to the 220/110 kV substation "Pleven 1" for the students of the secondary school "St. Kliment Ohridski" in the city of Suhindol. The students from the specialty "Electrician of electrical machines and devices" visited the open and closed switchgear of the substation and got acquainted with the mechanism of operation of the main facilities.

The initiatives added further efforts to ESO's drive and the company's "Energy School" program to support professional education and attract talented young people with a strong interest in pursuing a career in the energy sector.
