MTC: Bulgarian projects received 844,000 euros

100% of the Bulgarian projects applied for under the "Digital Europe" program have been approved for financing. The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) provides administrative and organizational support to organizations when submitting proposals.

3 projects with 5 Bulgarian organizations were submitted from Bulgaria. All have received very high marks and will be funded. Financial support is for creating data spaces, end-to-end asset management in critical manufacturing industries, mobility and media data. The received funding from the Bulgarian organizations is in the amount of 844,069 euros.

Since its launch in 2021, 18 projects have been approved under the Digital Europe program in the areas of digital skills, cyber security, European Digital Innovation Hubs, national plan for quantum communication infrastructure, data spaces, etc. Bulgarian organizations received 16.4 million euros.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications is also the national coordinator of sectoral projects under the Connecting Europe Facility. Two projects are implemented under this financial instrument. Within the framework of 5G SEAGUL, A1 Bulgaria in partnership with the Greek communication companies - WINGS ICT Solutions and COSMOTE, will provide uninterrupted 5G and roaming services along the cross-border transport corridor between Sofia and Athens. This will enable the movement of autonomous cars and improve connectivity in less populated areas. The Black Sea Landing Point project envisages conducting a study on possible points for deploying underwater cable systems along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
