The prosecutor's office has initiated criminal proceedings based on GERB's report on the purchase of gas through intermediaries. This was understood from the words of the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev during the meeting with the GERB-SDS parliamentary group in the parliament. It was from the party that they filed a report with the DANS and the Ministry of the Interior in the summer, which was for the purchase of gas from the gas company MET Energy. According to GERB's claims, the contracts then led to an increase in the price of blue fuel by at least 30%.

Already in the previous parliament, GERB accused the Prime Minister's office that, during their administration, Russian gas was bought again, despite the discontinued supplies from Gazprom, but through intermediaries. The subject of the meeting with Geshev was brought up by the deputy chairman of GERB, Daniel Mitov, who drew attention to the fact that they had filed signals related to gas supply intermediaries.

"We do not notice any movement in the prosecutor's office on these cases, and I would like to find out now if this is due to a clash of institutions, or if more in-depth work is needed," said Mitov.

Investigations are currently underway, including by the National Bureau of Investigation into the subject of gas and other issues related to classified information. In the event that sufficient evidence is collected for the guilt of a specific person, I have no doubt that the Bulgarian prosecutor's office will do its job and bring the relevant charges," said Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev.

This is the second meeting of the chief prosecutor with a parliamentary group, after yesterday he also met with the PG of "Bulgarian Rise". Today's meeting with GERB comes after the letter that Geshev sent to each of the political forces in the National Assembly, recalls Dir.bg.
