The decision of the Constitutional Court implies the return of Ivan Ivanov as the chairman of the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (EWRC). GERB-SDS deputy Delyan Dobrev commented on this in the studio of the morning block of BTV.

As is known, on Thursday the Constitutional Court decided that the election of the current chairman of EWRC is in violation of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria.

"The Constitutional Court overturned the decision of the National Assembly because Mr. Todorov was elected Speaker, and then the law was changed so that he met the conditions of the law. There has never been such a scandalous election in our country. There have been cases where the law is first changed to suit a person, and then the person is elected. But to elect the person and then change the law is just absurd. And this is what the Constitutional Court says. In fact, he canceled the selection. The interesting thing is that this candidate does not meet the new law either, and I understood that he has the ambition to run again," said Dobrev.

The deputy also raised the question of how the regulator will meet, given the fact that the number of members has been reduced to three, so that "We continue the change" can secure an advantage and control over the commission. "Now there are two left, if they have a different opinion, how will a decision be made in the committee," Dobrev asked.

"An interesting question is, when this decision is revoked, what happens? Is there a chairman of EWRC or not? In my opinion, the logic is that Ivan Ivanov should return as chairman, and I will tell you why. Because it is written in the law that the chairman of EWRC, in this case Ivan Ivanov, has a mandate and must fulfill the position until a new one is elected. We had a new one elected, but this new Constitutional Court removed him, annulled the election, and Ivan Ivanov must return," said Dobrev.

According to the deputy, if a procedure for electing a new chairman is announced, it will take a month, and it is not clear whether the National Assembly has such a deadline. Dobrev was adamant that the election of the suspended EWRC chairman was political.

The government will not cope with the provision of gas for Bulgaria. We also have information from the services. We also have the recognition of "Bulgargaz" from October to December we have only 30% of the required quantities of gas and they are sufficient unity for "Sofia District Heating" to work", said Dobrev.

About a week ago, the long-awaited gas connection with Greece was completed, and a few days ago the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the resigned Prime Minister Kiril Petkov.

"But do you know why we got to this situation so that the gas intermediaries could be brought in and we pay 30-40% more every month and lose over 100 million (BGN – n.e.) because we use intermediaries and the gas we use is still Russian," he added.

The MP also touched on the issue of fuel prices in Bulgaria, presenting the vision for the state to purchase oil to be processed by the refinery in Burgas.

"We proposed that instead of "Litasco" the state buys this cheap Russian oil, and as "Litasco" processes it in Lukoil, the state processes it in Lukoil, the state buys the oil, processes it in Lukoil, and the final price it comes to BGN 2.40. At this price, it should be sold at the gas stations, and then the fuel will be BGN 2.60, 2.70 with the surcharge at the gas stations. The other solution is that because one oil is 40% cheaper than the other, the state should impose a duty on the cheap Russian oil, and thus the state will collect 3 and a half billion (BGN – n.e.)," said Dobrev.

"Billions are stolen from fuel - 3.5 billion a year. 300 million BGN every month. This money is stolen from the Bulgarian consumer, and where it goes, the prosecutor's office must investigate," he added.

Dobrev explained that for this they need Rashkov (Boyko Rashkov, Interior Minister and PP candidate for the head of KPKONPI), we have no worries about Rashkov, but they need him to cover the traces of the Swiss accounts.
