Record increase in the price of electricity on stock exchanges across Europe
Romania's OPCOM closed at € 384.44 / mWh and Greece's HENEX closed at € 362.22 / mWh for baseline energy
Energy prices in Europe continue to rise, reaching record levels unprecedented this year. Electricity in the Day Ahead segment is already being sold almost at pre-Christmas levels, when prices have skyrocketed. Baseline energy levels are now at a record low of € 400 / MWh in Western Europe.
Romania's energy exchange OPCOM closed the Day Forward segment at a price of 384.44 euros / mWh. This is shown by the data of the stock exchange for March 4, 2022. The price for peak energy is 404.66 euros / mWh, and off-peak energy is 364.22 euros / mWh. The highest price of 493.11 euros / MWh will be at 7 pm. The lowest price will be at 4 am and it will be 304.05 euros / MWh. The traded volumes at the base energy are 72,105.8 mWh.
On the Greek energy exchange HENEX the average price for March 4 will be 362.22 euros / MWh. The total traded volume of electricity is 158.85 GWh. The maximum price will be 446.52 euros / mWh and it will be at 7 pm. The minimum price will be at 3 am and it will be 281.21 euros / mWh.
At the Hungarian energy exchange HUPX, the price of basic energy for March 4 is 379.16 euros / mWh. The peak energy is traded for 394.10 euros / mWh. The highest price of 493.11 euros / mWh will be at 7 pm. The lowest price will be at 4 am it will be 304.05 euros / mWh. The traded volumes will be 68,119.1 MWh.
The base price of electricity for March 4 on the Slovak Energy Exchange is 379.06 euros / MWh. The base price of electricity on the Czech Energy Exchange is 366.88 euros / mWh. The highest price in Bratislava will be at 7 pm and it will be 493.11 euros / MWh. The highest price in Prague will be at 9 am and it will be 410.05 euros / MWh. The lowest price will be in both countries at 4 o'clock and it will be 304.05 euros / MWh.
On the Austrian Energy Exchange, the price for basic energy for March 4 is 367.45 euros / mWh. The peak price will reach 375.23 euros / mWh. The traded volume of the base energy is 73,736.3 MWh. The highest price is expected to be at 9 am and it will reach 410.05 euros / MWh. The lowest price is expected at 4 o'clock it will be 304.05 euros / mWh.
On the German Energy Exchange, the price for basic energy is 358.78 euros / mWh on March 4. The peak price will be 358.74 euros / mWh. The traded volumes at the base energy are 429,592.2 mWh. The highest price is expected to be at 9 am and it will reach 410.05 euros / MWh. The lowest price of 292.16 euros / mWh is expected at 2 p.m.
