Restaurateurs from Sofia complain to Ninova that they cannot work after 22:00, but they cannot receive benefits
Within a week, the signing of the new contracts and the payment of aid in the amount of up to BGN 50,000 for small and medium-sized enterprises that have applied for and been approved will begin. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Industry Cornelia Ninova during a meeting with representatives of the restaurant and hotel industry. The Minister of Tourism Hristo Prodanov, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy Ivan Krastev, as well as the Deputy Minister of Health Georgi Yordanov also took part in it.
The restaurant industry presented to Ninova and her colleagues a number of problems it faces, including the ineffectiveness of the 60/40 measure, as well as the entry into force of new restrictive measures at the regional level concerning Sofia. According to them, business compensations are problematic, as a regional order cannot take away the functions of a national order and this automatically stops compensatory payments, as well as applying for them. Business representatives stressed the urgent need for the order to be nationally regulated so that businesses can benefit from compensation mechanisms.
In this regard, Ninova undertook to assist in all ways and as soon as possible to find a solution to this case, including amendments to the State of Emergency.
The industry presented a number of arguments in favor of the abolition of the imposed evening time from 22:00 for the closure of restaurants in the capital. At the same time, they announced that they would agree if the current model is maintained - the employment in the establishments should not exceed the limit of 50% of their capacity.
