The tender for oil and natural gas exploration in "Block 1-26 Tervel" is terminated

The tender for oil and gas exploration in Block 1-26 Tervel will be terminated, the Council of Ministers decided at today's meeting.

"Block 1-26 Tervel" is located in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Black Sea. The competition for selection of a holder of a search and survey permit for the block was announced by decision №485 of the Council of Ministers of August 6, 2019. , regulated in the decision of the Council of Ministers, there is no candidate who has purchased tender papers and no applications for participation in the tender have been submitted.

The tender procedure is terminated on the grounds of art. 50 a, item 1 of the Mineral Resources Act. The text in question states that the competition for the granting of a permit is terminated by a decision of the body that opened the procedure, when no application or proposal has been submitted.

This was the third attempt to find a company to study the possibilities for extraction of an area of ​​4032 sq. Km. The previous attempt was in 2015, when the government announced a tender for granting such a permit together with the Silistar site.
