Risk Engineering delivered new turbines for TPP Sofia East and TPP Sofia

New anti-pressure turbines and generators TG-4 and TG-9 replaced the existing ones at TPP Sofia East and TPP Sofia. The purpose of the modernizations is to provide the basic heat district heating loads and to produce combined heat and electricity. Turbines, generators and ancillary equipment are new, with a modern design, highly energy efficient and have high operational reliability. The installed equipment exceeds the requirements of the contracting company.

With a requirement of 10% fuel economy and efficiency parameters total ≥75%, according to the European Directive for the promotion of cogeneration and our national legislation, fuel savings of between 14-16.5%, but not less than 12% and a total efficiency of 86-88%. The main principles of operation of the turbogenerator are:

The energy efficiency of turbogenerators for electricity and heat production is assessed according to Regulation 8 / Directive 2004 / EU.

The turbogenerators and the auxiliary equipment are provided to Toplofikacia Sofia EAD in fulfillment of contracts: Engineering of a turbogenerator with a capacity of 35 MW and auxiliary equipment for TPP Sofia.
