Households' Deposits in Banks Amount to Lv 61.042 Billion at End of 2020

At the end of December 2020, non-governmental sector deposits amounted to 93.400 billion leva  (79.2 of GDP), increasing by 9.7 per cent year-on-year, the Bulgarian National Bank reported on Tuesday.

Deposits by non-financial corporations amounted to 29.280 billion leva (24.8 per cent of GDP), increasing by 10.5 per cent  year-on-year. Deposits of financial enterprises increased by 2 per cent and reached 3.079 billion leva, or 2.6 per cent of GDP.

Deposits of households and non-profit institutions serving households amounted to 61.042 billion leva (51.8 per cent of GDP) and increased by 9.7 per cent year-on-year.

At the end of December 2020, loans to the non-governmental sector amounted to 65.456 billion leva (55.5 per cent of GDP), increasing by 4.4 per cent year-on-year.

Loans to non-financial corporations increased by 3 per cent year-on-year, reaching 35.643 billion leva (30.2 per cent of GDP).

Loans to households and non-profit institutions serving households amounted to 25.492 billion leva (21.6 per cent of GDP), increasing by 6.6 per cent year-on-year. Mortgage loans amounted to 12.016 billion leva and increased by 11.6 per cent year-on-year. Consumer loans amounted to 11.898 billion leva and  increased by 5 per cent compared to December 2019.

Loans to financial corporations amounted to 4.322 billion leva, increasing by 3.6 per cent year-on-year.
