In Bulgaria in November retail sales rose by 1.2 per cent month-on-month

In the same time the seasonally adjusted volume of retail trade fell by 6.1 per cent in the euro area and by 5.0 per cent the EU, according to Eurostat data

In November 2020, the COVID-19 containment measures introduced again by several Member States had a significant impact on retail trade, as the seasonally adjusted volume of retail trade fell by 6.1 per cent in the euro  area and by 5.0 per cent the EU, compared with October 2020, according to estimates from Eurostat released on Thursday.

In Bulgaria, November retail sales rose by 1.2 per cent month-on-month. In November 2020 compared with November 2019, the calendar adjusted volume of retail trade decreased by 2.9 per cent in the  euro area and by 2.0 per cent in the EU.

In Bulgaria, the annual decline of retail sales in November stood at -6.4 per cent compared to -6.7 per cent in October.

Among Member States for which data are available, the largest yearly decreases in the total retail trade volume were registered in France (-15.7 per cent), Slovenia (-14.2 per cent)  and Belgium (-11.7 per cent). The highest increases were observed in Germany (+8.8 per cent), Denmark (+8.7 per cent) and the Netherlands (+6.6 per cent).
