284 New Cases of COVID-19 Confirmed in Bulgaria
The healthcare authorities confirmed 284 new cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria in the last 24 hours after 6,395 PCR tests, according to data published on the national coronavirus web portal on Thursday morning.
The largest number of new cases were diagnosed in the region of Sofia (73), followed by Blagoevgrad (38) and Rousse (33).
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria since the start of the pandemic is 11,155. There are 4,816 active cases.
A total of 5,971 people have recovered from the disease so far, including 205 over the last 24 hours. Seven hundred and twenty-two patients are in hospital, 37 of them in intensive care wards.
Bulgaria has lost 368 human lives to the infection so far, including 13 lives over the last 24 hours.
Two hundred and thirty physicians, 234 nurses, 106 orderlies, 10 paramedics and 84 other medical staff have been infected with the disease in the country since it broke out.
