My guess is that it is quite possible that inflation will surprise us. This was said by the Minister of Finance Valeri Belchev to Nova TV. He commented on whether the minimum wage will increase. According to him, it is too early to say what its amount will be next year.

"This is really an issue that excites a lot of people. We are in talks with trade unions and employers' organizations. The truth is that on the part of the caretaker government, these are difficult decisions, because we are supposed to be on a forecast. You must be aware that it is updated every 6 months. The last time this was not done. On this basis we put some policies. Politics are put in place when there is a parliament, a ruling party and a regular government. We enter the unnatural role of having to take care of these things. We will definitely do everything possible so that the citizens of the country do not fall into a difficult situation. We know that the inflation forecast for the book seems completely under control," Belchev added.

My personal opinion as an economist is that these static views very often turn out to be wrong. After all these billions that have been poured into the world economy, there is no way they cannot cause the devaluation of money. My assumption is that it is very possible that inflation will surprise us, "said Valeri Belchev.

He also commented on the topic of taxes and pointed out that they should be maintained as long as there is an emergency situation, as long as there is a need to support business and people.
