Terminal 2 will now serve all planes landing in Sofia at night
The free transport between the two terminals starts working around the clock
Passengers of all aircraft landing at Sofia Airport in the evening and at night will now be served only at Terminal 2. The change takes effect today, and the goal is to speed up the processing of documents and the passage of passengers through the control desks. The decision to relocate the arriving evening flights was initiated by the management team of the concessionaire at Sofia Airport SOF Connect and was taken after discussions and meetings with the General Directorate of Border Police, the Sofia Regional Health Inspectorate and ground operators. Thus, every plane that lands between 20:00 in the evening and 8:00 in the morning will be serviced at the new terminal at the airport.
However, there will be no change for scheduled flights before 20:00 and after 8:00, which have so far been served by Terminal 1. According to the management of Sofia Airport, this will avoid the inconvenience for passengers and their greeters.
At the same time, all business flights, regardless of the time of landing, will continue to be served by Terminal 1 as well.
In connection with the introduced change and for the convenience of the passengers, the working hours of the free transport between the two terminals are extended, as it becomes round-the-clock. Thus, the special bus will transport passengers between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 already in the period between 20:00 and 8:00. The airport also clarifies that the exit to the buses for passengers from domestic flights has been repaired by changing its flooring.
