Experts: The increase in electricity and heating prices should be higher

The rise in the prices of heating and electricity is not quite real, because this is the existential minimum of increase, commented in the program "Wake up" on Nova TV the energy expert Vasko Nachev. He believes that the rise in prices should be more significant, given the state of world markets and the price of oil and gas.

The expert acknowledged that any rise in prices is extremely unpleasant, but the facts cannot be changed and added that in the next few years there will be no change for the better. He warned that the effects and negatives of the COVID situation will still be expressed and will disappear for a long time, as electricity consumption will reach pre-pandemic levels in 2028.

In the program, Vanya Grigorova, economic adviser at Podkrepa, said that as a consumer the new prices did not seem real to her, but acknowledged and supported Vasko Nachev that prices should have been higher because a number of costs were not included in the pricing, which aims to protect the consumer, although for most Bulgarians any increase in prices is a scourge.

She stressed that, as always, prices rise in the summer, when there is not much consumption, so as not to immediately feel the impact, which will hit in full force in October.

Vanya Grigorova warns that the increases will not stop, especially after the gas leaks. For her, the price increase will continue due to the liberalization of the energy sector, as well as the abandonment of coal in Bulgaria.
