High recognition for the Electricity System Operator from ENTSO-E

The director of the Central Dispatch Office of ESO Dimitar Zarchev was elected a member of the Board of the European Association of Electricity Transmission Operators - ENTSO-E, according to a system operator. The contribution of the Electricity System Operator and the active participation of the company's teams over the past three years in the operational committees and working groups of ENTSO-E, as well as the processes of unification of the European electricity market were crowned with the support of Dimitar Zarchev of the Board of the European Association of Electricity Transmission Operators - ENTSO-E.

The election of the director of CDU of ESO Dimitar Zarchev as a member of the management of ENTSO-E comes in response to the active participation of the Bulgarian independent electricity transmission operator in the work on the establishment of the Coordination Center for Security of Electricity Networks of Southeast Europe, as well as in the negotiation processes for the integration of the countries of the Western Balkans into the Single European Electricity Market. The support for Dimitar Zarchev is a high assessment of the achievements of the Electricity System Operator for the development of the trans-European infrastructure and ensuring the security of electricity supply in the conditions of transition to climate-neutral energy.

The Executive Director of ESO Angelin Tsachev welcomed the election of Dimitar Zarchev to the Board of Directors of ENTSO-E with the words: “The support received by the Director of the Central Dispatch Office of the Bulgarian electricity transmission operator is recognition the past years. I congratulate Dimitar Zarchev for his election to the leadership of the European Association of Electricity Transmission Operators with gratitude for his contribution to the work on the establishment of the Coordination Center for Security of Electricity Networks of Southeast Europe, which began providing services on July 1, 2021 and active his participation in the system management committee. I wish success in upholding the national and European standards for the development of the electricity system in accordance with the European regulations and guidelines of the "Clean Energy for All Europeans" package.

Dimitar Zarchev has been part of the team of the Electricity System Operator since 2007. For 9 years he has been the head of the "Automated Dispatching Systems" department at ESO's Central Data Center. Since 2019 he has been the director of the Central Dispatching Directorate.
