The Turkish Stream gas pipeline is undergoing scheduled repairs for seven days. The repair days start on Tuesday, June 22 and will last until June 28 inclusive.

In this occasion, during the public discussion about the price of gas in May, the executive director of Bulgargaz Nikolay Pavlov complained. "This means that the repair works will lead to supply disruptions for a period of 7 days for Greece, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria, which will lead to a shortage of natural gas in these markets," he said  that the company is making "every effort to provide and will provide natural gas for this period."

This is a planned renovation, announced long enough ago. Such repairs have been made for many years and I see no reason for concern, commented an expert from the sector, who wished not to mention his name. According to him, the country's gas transportation system is prepared for these usual repairs.

As the data show, there is currently a sufficient amount of natural gas in the underground gas storage to meet the needs of the country.

These days, the director of the state-owned company Srbijagaz, Dusan Bayatovic, announced that Serbia's gas transmission system is ready for a technical disruption of supplies from the extension of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, through which 1.2 billion cubic meter of gas have been delivered since the beginning of the year. According to him, the underground gas storage Banatski Dvor in the northeastern part of the country has already been prepared for the interruption of supplies, "with the volumes to cover the daily gas needs in Serbia" for the given period.
