Kremen Georgiev: The doubled price of carbon emissions requires higher prices for heating and hot water
Greenhouse gas prices are a direct cost to any energy company and cannot but be included in pricing, he said
Heating and hot water should rise in price from July not only because of rising gas prices, but also because of rising carbon emissions. This was said to BNR by the chairman of the Association of District Heating Companies Kremen Georgiev.
According to him, it will be clear next month at the earliest whether the energy regulator will be able to keep prices.
Only for the last one-year period the prices of the emissions have exceeded twice the determination of the prices of the heat set from last July, Georgiev explained.
"There is no option for a reduction. If anyone expects this, there are no such conditions. We are very far from such conditions, but it is too early to say how much the increase will be or the price can be kept, because we need a very serious calculation, not just to talk, "he said.
"The bad thing in this case is that the prices of carbon emissions are a direct cost of any energy company and must be included in the pricing," Kremen Georgiev added.
He specified that the calculations of the district heating companies, which want the heating and hot water to rise in price between 5 and 138 percent from July, take into account the current levels of natural gas and carbon emissions.
