The planned annual repair of the fifth unit of Kozloduy NPP has started

On April 17, 2021, the planned annual repair of the fifth unit of the nuclear power plant began at Kozloduy NPP. The reactor will be recharged for the next fuel campaign and activities related to the safety and long-term operation of the nuclear facility. It is planned to perform preventive maintenance and repair, functional tests and inspections, specialized inspections and operational non-destructive testing.

All activities are carried out in accordance with the licensing obligations, the requirements of the technological regulation for safe operation and the factory requirements.

The necessary organization has been set up at the nuclear power plant to strictly implement the introduced measures to limit the spread of Covid-19 in order to protect the health of workers and to ensure the implementation of the planned activities.

The annual renovation of the fifth block is planned to continue until the end of May.

Unit 6 of Kozloduy NPP operates in accordance with the planned schedule for electricity generation.
