Five ministers from Bulgaria and the Republic of Northern Macedonia gather for their first infrastructure working meeting

On February 10, 2022, three ministers from Bulgaria and two from the Republic of Northern Macedonia will take part in a meeting of the interdepartmental working group for cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, transport and connectivity. It will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Grozdan Karadjov, Minister of Local Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia Goran Milevski, Ministers of Transport and Communications of Bulgaria Nikolay Sabev and the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Northern Macedonia Blagoy Boatvarski and energy Alexander Nikolov. The working meeting will also include Regional Deputy Minister Deliana Ivanova, Razmena Cekic-Durovic - State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, and experts from the two countries' ministries.

The participants will discuss topics related to transport and transport connectivity between the two countries, energy and regional policy, the Bulgarian Regional Ministry announced.

Prior to that, Deputy Prime Minister Grozdan Karadjov and Goran Milevski will take part in a meeting on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Local Self-Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia.

We remind you that a direct flight between Sofia and Skopje is expected to be established in the near future. The construction of a new border crossing and the completion of the construction of the railway line between the two capitals is also of key importance for both countries.

The supply of natural gas, which the country receives mainly through the Bulgarian transit gas transmission network, will also be important for the Republic of Macedonia.
