Coal and straw burned in the warehouse of the Bobov Dol TPP

The fire in Bobov Dol affected the TPP's warehouse, burning coal and straw. The affected area is about 30 acres out of over 100 acres on which the farm is located.

The localization was made possible thanks to strict compliance with all requirements for arranging coal and straw in figures of a certain size and height. This allows firefighting teams to pass through the formed clearings. From the initial inspection, straw and many coal figures were affected. Wagons that delivered raw material were also affected by the fire. At this moment, actions are continuing for the smoldering areas.

In the village of Golemo Selo, which is the closest settlement to the incident, a mobile automatic station (MAS) of the Executive Environmental Agency (EEA) is located. The station continuously monitors the quality of ambient air (AAA). So far, no exceedances of the regulatory values for the indicators characterizing air quality have been registered.

"All fire prevention measures are being followed at the power plant, but the heat has shown that this is not enough and we need to upgrade our system so that we do not allow such incidents in the future. On Monday, we will form a working group of the technical teams of all companies working in the field to propose additional measures. At this stage, this is even more important than the assessment of material damage. Thank you to all the firefighters, institutions, and workers who participated in controlling the fire, as well as the mayors of neighboring settlements. We apologize to the people from the surrounding settlements who we worried, but you can see that there are force majeure circumstances. Yesterday, there were such fires in an extremely large number of places in the country. We will do everything necessary to strengthen the measures related to prevention," said Eng. A week ago, they stated that Bobov Dol Thermal Power Plant is taking urgent measures to restore its full capacity and produce the energy necessary for the security and balance of the energy system. Although the task is complicated, they confirm their efforts to make this happen, realizing their responsibility for the system.
