Minister Dilov and the American Chamber of Commerce will work together to position Bulgaria as an investment destination
For the first ten months of 2024, our trade with the United States amounted to 1.4 billion USD

The positioning of Bulgaria as an investment destination for American companies and the expansion of cooperation in the field of trade were discussed during a meeting between the Minister of Economy and Industry Petar Dilov and Ivan Mihaylov, CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Bulgaria.
The two discussed the opportunities for attracting American investors in our country, as well as for expanding the activities of companies that are already positioned in Bulgaria.
Minister Dilov emphasized that the United States is an important partner and active work will be done to develop bilateral trade and economic relations.
According to him, the American market is among the main export destinations for the sale of Bulgarian high-tech products.
The Minister of Economy pointed out that for the period January-October 2024, Bulgaria's trade with the United States amounted to 1.4 billion USD. At the meeting, it was noted that Bulgaria has a positive trade balance in trade between the two countries, with Bulgarian exports for the first ten months of 2024 amounting to just over 1 billion USD, according to statistics.
During the conversation, the two emphasized that industry, trade, energy and high-tech production remain among the priority sectors for expanding bilateral cooperation.
Joint initiatives were also discussed that would contribute to the activation of the partnership, such as organizing business missions, regional initiatives and forums for cross-border cooperation.
For his part, Ivan Mihaylov pointed out that the Ministry of Economy and Industry is an important partner of AmCham in relations between Bulgaria and the United States for the development of trade and economic relations.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Nevena Lazarova and the Minister's Chief of Staff Tanya Atanasova.
