First session of the 51st National Assembly
The first session of the 51st National Assembly started today, November 11. The newly elected deputies will gather in the plenary hall at exactly 10 o'clock to take the oath. The first bell will ring the oldest chairman Silvi Kirilov from "There is such people".
President Rumen Radev and Vice President Iliana Yotova will attend the official part.
The newly elected MPs are expected to elect a Speaker of the Parliament. At this stage, GERB-SDS, PP-DB, BSP, "Vazrazhdane", as well as "There is such people" have expressed their desire to apply. However, the parties did not negotiate on this issue, so the expectation is for further "squabbles", and whether a consensus will be reached remains to be seen. Negotiations for a new government are also expected.
Against this background, seven protests have been announced in the capital, some of which will be on the yellow pavements in front of the National Assembly.
