They sign the engineering contract for the construction of new nuclear units at the Kozloduy NPP

Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev will attend the signing ceremony of an engineering contract for new nuclear facilities at site #2 of the Kozloduy NPP. This was announced by the press service of the Council of Ministers. The event will take place today at 11:00 a.m. in the building of the Council of Ministers.

The contract between NPP "Kozloduy - New Powers" EAD and the consortium "Westinghouse - HC DZZD" will be signed by the executive director of NPP "Kozloduy - New Powers" EAD Petyo Ivanov, Elias Gedion from "Westinghouse Electric Companies", and by the name of "Hyundai Engineering and Construction" - by Yong Jun Yun.

The ceremony is expected to be attended by the acting ministers of energy and environment and water Vladimir Malinov and Petar Dimitrov, the US ambassador to Bulgaria Kenneth Merten, the head of the mission of the Republic of Korea embassy in Bulgaria Ji Yi Cho and other officials.

The signing of the contract is a key stage in the implementation of the project for the construction of a new nuclear power plant in Bulgaria. The joint work of the two global companies - Westinghouse and Hyundai - to provide an integrated service in Bulgaria will guarantee the implementation of the project within the previously set deadlines and budget.

We remind you that by a decision of the National Assembly, the South Korean "Hyundai Engineering and Construction" was chosen to conduct negotiations for a potential builder for the engineering, construction, delivery and commissioning of units 7 and 8 of the Kozloduy NPP with the AR 1000 technology of the American Westinghouse.
