Minister Karadimov in Pleven: We are providing twice as many IT specialists to check the machines for the elections
The government's commitments for the material and technical provision of the upcoming parliamentary elections are fulfilled on time, our organization is good. The Ministry of e-Governance will provide twice as many IT professionals to be actively involved in the process of checking the machines before their dispatch to the sections. The aim is to have a much larger number of checked machines in this election than in previous ones. This was stated by the Minister of Innovation and Growth Assoc Rosen Karadimov in Pleven. He held a working meeting with the regional governors from the Northwestern region - Pleven, Lovech, Vratsa, Montana and Vidin regions and with the representatives of the relevant territorial units of the Main Directorate "Civil Registration and Administrative Service" (CRAS).
Karadimov emphasized the good interaction of the Council of Ministers with the CEC and explained that the measures proposed by the official cabinet were aimed precisely at increasing transparency and guaranteeing trust in the machine vote. He assured that every one of the processes of authentication, parameterization and shipment of the devices will be public.
The Minister again drew attention to the issue of the destruction of old unused rolls of machine voting paper from the last parliamentary elections. "According to information from all district governors at the district level, all the rolls have been destroyed. However, there is no information whether this was done by some of the mayors. "At the moment, 61 municipalities have not submitted information," he specified.
Karadimov commented to the media in Pleven that the most effective form of counteracting the bought vote is an increase in voter turnout.
Minister Karadimov held working meetings with all regional governors in the country in his capacity as a coordinator for the implementation of activities for the material and technical provision of the elections for the National Assembly on October 27, 2024. The aim is to synchronize the process of preparation and improvement of coordination between the central authority and regional governors during their implementation.
