Successful finale of the fourth edition of the ESO stage program

The fourth edition of the stage program, which the Electricity System Operator organizes every summer, arouses great interest among students from the Technical Universities in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Ruse. They were joined by economics students from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, the American University in Blagoevgrad and The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

United by the interest to develop in the energy sector, during four months the students gained practical experience in the structures of the Electricity System Operator of Bulgaria. Guided by their mentors, the future energy workers apply what they have learned at the university so far and build on their knowledge and skills in a real work environment.

The closing ceremony of the fourth edition of the ESO stage program is held in the city of Varna, from where the largest group of students who acquired practical knowledge in the working atmosphere of ESO this year is from. The executive director of the company Angelin Tsachev hands the certificates for the successful completion of the program to the students with words of support and motivation.

Bulgarian energy is developing at a very fast pace and we need young personnel to realize the real goals in the sector," said ESO Executive Director Angelin Tsachev in his address to the trainees. "We lend a hand to everyone who wants to acquire practical knowledge in a real working environment, because we know that what is learned at university only gets real meaning when it is applied in practice," continues the executive director of the company and adds that this is the way to which is built by real specialists.

The program is held every year in the period from June 1 to September 30 throughout the country and is part of the "School of Energy" project, which is aimed at young people in Bulgaria with the aim of popularizing the profession of energy and supporting the career development of those who are interested in developing in the field of energy. Since the creation of the summer stage program in 2021, more than 110 students have gone through practical training at the Electric Power System Operator.

This year, the company wants 7 of the participants to be part of the ESO team, and another 5 offer to continue developing professionally in the company as scholarship holders.
