Our trade with Kazakhstan in 2023 will grow by nearly 18% and reach USD 103.5 million. e. This became clear during a meeting between the Minister of Economy and Industry Dr. Petko Nikolov and the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Bulgaria H.E. Viktor Temirbaev.

The two discussed the possibilities of expanding economic cooperation and strengthening trade relations between the countries. Minister Nikolov emphasized that it is very important to carry out more initiatives between trade organizations from both countries, with the aim of more active assistance to businesses to launch joint projects.

During the meeting, the issue of the upcoming meeting of the Bulgarian-Kazakhstan intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation was also discussed, and the participants in it united around the opinion that this is an important tool for promoting trade, economic and investment relations between the two countries.

Issues related to the development of transport corridors between Europe and Asia were also discussed, emphasizing the strategic location of both countries.

It became clear from the conversation that the Kazakh side is interested in deepening cooperation with Bulgaria in the field of energy between Bulgarian and Kazakh companies, as well as in the sectors of information technology and agriculture. "We are actively working to create more partnerships between Bulgarian companies and foreign businesses, because this is a prerequisite for increasing trade and a wider representation of foreign companies in our country," said Dr. Petko Nikolov.
