The Council of Ministers approved a draft memorandum of cooperation between Bulgaria and Japan in the field of energy
The Council of Ministers approved a draft Memorandum on cooperation in the field of energy transition between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.
In the field of energy, Bulgaria actively partners with Japan both at the institutional and corporate level. The two countries are exploring the possibilities of deepening these relations in new sector technologies. The memorandum foresees that the Republic of Bulgaria and Japan will study the possibilities of promoting cooperation in the fields of natural gas and nuclear energy.
Bulgaria implements an energy policy following the European Union's goals for security, competitiveness and a resource-efficient economy with zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. One of the main priorities of our country is the diversification of the sources and routes of energy resources, which will guarantee security and competitive prices for consumers. Of interest to Bulgaria are Japanese experience in energy innovations, including new control systems, energy storage batteries, charging infrastructure for electric cars and others.
The two sides will encourage the inclusion and participation of qualified companies from one side in energy projects carried out in the other side, including in the field of hydropower.
