Drones, cameras, numerous SIM cards and memory cards were found in it, BTA reported.

The man was detained for 72 hours and charged with collecting information that constitutes a state secret with the aim of providing it to another. The statement of the prosecutor's office does not make it clear in favor of which country the information was collected.

It has yet to be clarified whether the detainee is a Ukrainian citizen, whether he took photos of the object, whether there is evidence that he was involved in espionage activities and how he entered the object.

A permanent measure of "detention in custody" is pending.

According to the Deputy City Prosecutor of Sofia Hristo Krastev explained that there is no threat to the security of the country. The person has been detained and charged with collecting information that constitutes a state secret with the aim of providing it to a foreign country, he added.

The deputy city prosecutor also explained that at the moment, examinations are being prepared to determine whether the man took photos, what kind and whether they contain information that constitutes a state secret.

He recalled that, according to a decree of the Council of Ministers, TPP "Maritsa East 2" is a strategic object for national security. So far, there is no official position from the coal plant.
