Shell&MOH Aviation is the new aviation fuel supplier for government aircraft and helicopters
The State Aviation Operator (SAO) will not stop operating flights due to lack of fuel. This topic is being speculated upon, spreading incorrect and distorted information in the public space to create panic. This is what the Minister of Transport and Communications, Georgi Gvozdeikov, commented today to the media, on the occasion of information disseminated yesterday.
DAO has already signed the new aviation fuel supply contract with Shell&MOH Aviation. According to the terms of the contract, the price per ton is similar to that of the previous supplier. This was announced by the Ministry of Transport without giving details of the contract.
Earlier in the day, Minister Gvozdeikov emphasized that the requirements of the European legislation concerning the supply of fuels from producers with Russian participation are strictly observed. "Today the term of the derogation has expired and Russian fuel cannot be used anymore, and there is no way to deliver it," explained Georgi Gvozdeikov.
On February 29, 2024, the contract of the State Aviation Operator with "Lukoil Aviation Bulgaria" EOOD for the supply of aviation fuel expired. "We have secured a new supplier in time and there is no risk that DAO will not be able to perform its flights", pointed out Minister Georgi Gvozdeikov.
